New, and to be honest just as humbling as it is inspiring, vid on The Selby. The video documents the work of deaf artist Christine Sun Kim and shows in part how she uses sound as a means to create and the challenge she faces, making use of a medium that's completely foreign to her.

JUAN TRAVIESO
There's something pretty cool about Juan Travieso's paintings. They've got this Salvador Dali, psychedelic thing going on. Found via changethethought where his worked was described as "what it might look like if the band MGMT were to paint instead of sing". I like the bear paintings the most.

BRENDAN MONROE

Found via Notcot, which shall be one of my daily check-ins from now on, comes the fresh and original sculptures and paintings from Californian Brendan Monroe. The sculptures are a little creepy, but cool creepy not freaky creepy. I also love the world of bizarre characters and lunar-like landscapes he's created in his paintings.
